Welcome to Detroit, now go home. (That was some Detroit humor.) Detroit is my hometown. It is a strange place to live. Being a Detroiter has its perks, though. I am never homesick, because no matter where I go, it is nicer than home.

Here are a few interesting facts about Detroit:

• Detroit was founded by French explorers a long time ago.
• Detroit is on the border to Canada.
• Detroit used to be the home of Motown, until Motown moved to California.
• Detroit is a city of ruins. Maybe someday it will rise from the ashes.
